MY ORIGINAL REQUEST FOR HELP 5/12/2003

Against the backdrop of s5 Angel-renewal-glee and general Angel-related frolicking, I submit the following for your consideration...

I'd like to gauge interest in a project I'm contemplating for this summer: I would very much like to add 4 seasons of Angel dialogue to the BuffyDB. And I'd like to finish sometime before season 5 starts, so not only am I wondering what kind of enthusiasm is out there for *using* an Angel-expanded version of the site, but I'd also like to find out if I'd be able to convince people (the more the merrier!) to actually roll back their sleeves and help me *with* the project.

So, anyone willing, able and excited about the thought of being invited to step into my kitchen and bang around some pots and pans?

I need a certain amount of conformity, so I would draft up a set of guidelines for volunteers to follow. Which, knowing me, will probably be over-detailed and a chore and a half just to read, let alone follow, you've been warned! The main work would consist of starting with a televised transcript from buffyworld, psyche's etc, dividing it up into scenes (sometimes moving blocks around if there's a single scene that's being inter-spliced with another), adjusting the formatting, cutting down on the action descriptions. Deliver as a text file, and I'll take care of the rest...

That's the bulk of the grunt work right there and I wouldn't require anything more than that, but if you wanted to *really* run with it and do the more fun parts (come up with titles, assign arcs, spot AKAes, decide key speaking characters and/or any of the other things that show up on the episode pages) I would certainly take any and all help I could get with those as it would save me a tremendous amount of time and effort and make the whole process go lickety split.

In return I'll gush about how wonderful you are, and of course credit and link you however you'd like on all the appropriate pages. *And* have time to make episode collages! I was thinking people could sign up for eps they were interested in doing on a first-come-first serve basis, or just take the next available one, though I think I'd want to do it in batches (start with season 1, get all those done before moving on, etc)

I'm making this a friends-only post as there's a certain level of mental acuity required to do this right, and I don't want to have to turn down people who offer to help even though it's clear they can't even string a sentence together... if however you have any other anal, um, I mean "detail-oriented", Angel-lovin' friends who you think might be interested in helping, feel free to pass the word discretely on...
