Color and flavor your own cupcake or cookie sprinkles with kool-aid drink mix.
Just mix a bit of powdered sugar, some unsweetened kool-aid drink mix and water until you get a consistency suitable for dripping. Start with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar, 1/8 a teaspoon of drink mix and 1-2 teaspoons of water for your first experiment and modify from there.
Put a piece of waxed paper waxy side up on the counter and use a spoon to drip the sugar mixture onto it. It should bead up into little semi-spheres as shown above. If it doesn't, add a little more water and try again.
Allow the beads to air dry. How long it takes will depend on your conditions, but allow at least 24 hours. When dry, pop them off the paper and store in a plastic container or ziplock until you want to use them.
You can also roughly pipe lines instead of making dots, and then cut or smash them to make rougher sprinkles. Mix sprinkles of different colors for extra visual interest.
The more kool-aid you use, the darker the color will be, but careful! They will also get very tart.
