Peeling potatoes? Hate throwing the peelings away, and no compost pile in sight? Make yourself a quick, crunchy snack in the microwave to keep you going while you cook.
First, be sure to scrub the potatoes before you peel them.
Peel the potatoes in nice long strips. Discard any blemished strips.
Spray a microwave safe dish with cooking spray and spread the strips out. Sprinkle with garlic salt, butter-flavored salt and/or other spices to taste.
Microwave for 1 minute, then stir briefly. Repeat until done.
3-6 minutes will be needed until potatoes become crispy, depending on how much you are doing, your microwave strength, etc. When they start to get dry and papery, start checking every 30 seconds to make sure you don't over do it. They're done when they're crispy.
