Flower Girl Dress, Part 11: Big Day

Finally, the big day arrived. The dress emerged only slightly wrinkled from it's sojourn in a too-small suit-case and floated out into the lime-light, the skirt miraculously just the right length to avoid being stepped on.

A close inspection will confirm that the skirt on my version is fuller than the retail version, and the arm holes a bit snugger (though that could be attributable to different sized children in the same size dress). And of course the give-away missing buttons on the back, conveniently hidden under a cloud of hair.

But I doubt anyone who didn't expect to see one home-made dress and one store-bought marching side by side down the aisle one noticed the differences. I'm sure they did notice that neither flower girl scattered any flowers, because they didn't have a hand free to do so. And I hope they found that as amusing as I did.
